Andy graduated with an MCS degree from the Computer Science Department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As part of his studies, he conducted research on intrusion detection and threat hunting in the STS Lab. Andy is a graduate of the Illinois Computing Accelerator for Non-Specialists (iCAN) program Prior to participating in the iCAN program, he spent time as a graduate student in mathematics at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he studied homotopy theory and algebraic topology. After graduating, Andy was hired as a Network Engineer at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications.
